Adding new shifts to our opening means that we now offer Wednesday 10 - 4pm (allowing for cleaning) our doors will be open so we can welcome all the community including after school! Still following Safe Browsing guidelines, will mean we get to see our lovely customers again - wearing masks of course and following COVID rule with sanitiser and number limits - but WE ARE VERY HAPPY!  LET THE SAFE BROWSING BEGIN!! We follow all the covid guidlines and have safety procedures in place.


RETURNS CAN BE LEFT IN THE RETURN BIN BY OUR LIBRARY DOOR every WEDNESDAY 10-4  + SATURDAY 1015 - 1145am, they will then be quarantined.


We have been busy with our virtual clubs - Caffi Cymraeg every Tuesday am and Fun with French on Thursday evenings.


Our most recent book club for adults "Novels @ Night" .Thursdays once a month! And over the next few months we will be having AUTHOR visits - get in touch if you'd like to join us or just come along for our (Romance) Author Visits.


Our clubs are all about keeping in touch!  Novels @ Night via messenger and a once a month optional zoom, discussing the poll-chosen book and much more!

Y Lolfa is a Community Library run by volunteers providing a central hub for lending both Neath Port Talbot Libraries books and Y Lolfa's Own Collection. 


We also sell pre-loved books, happy to give information, (pre covid we have)IT, we can print if you bring a memory stick or photocopy for you.  We offer support & many warm, welcoming groups. Go to the ORDER & COLLECT page (link above) for ordering books (loans or 2nd hand purchases).

Our philosophy


We are here to support the community and embrace books, the community, and all things Welsh!  We partner the Monday & Wednesday afternoon parent/toddler group "Busy Rascals" (BizzyRascals on facebook).   Workways+ for employment who have outreach twice a week (online at the moment), Hwyl Wellbeing & signposting (used to be GCG Friday Coffee Morning,) Art & Craft in the Library & Amman Valley Foodbank Menteriaith regularly hold events with us (in addition to us running Caffi Cymraeg for Welsh Learners every Tuesday) and we hope in the Autumn 2021 to hold weekly confidence boosting Reading to a Dog with Burns by Your Side!

Canolfan Maerdy Food Hub is open during weekdays. We also look forward to an exciting link with Clwb y Gors, Awel Aman Tawe.. watch this space!  Our clubs are currently online, Lego Club Facebook group and Book Clubs for all ages plus French Fun weekly classes are all on Zoom Clubs...
