Health Expect 2015-2017 £20,000

The ‘Ymlaen ac Arlein’ project was funded by from money raised by HealthExpect through The Health Lottery, the first grant received by Y Lolfa. It included the appointment of a part-time project worker, the purchase of three computers for public use, and the setting up of book clubs, crafts, Welsh, Lego and other activities.

Mynydd Y Betws Community Benefit Fund 2017 £4500

The project encouraged the community’s awareness of the full range of Y Lolfa resources by encouraging library volunteers and library users to make use of the wide range of electronic resources available, including e-magazines, Ancestry family history, and academic journals. The project included a programme of social media marketing, leaflets, and taster sessions, talks and one to one sessions to reach those in the community who were not currently members.


National Lottery Community Fund 2018 £10,000

This project funded the project worker to further develop and market the book clubs, volunteer training, and a contribution to core costs.

A grant to support summer holiday activities where food could be provided to children.

This grant covered some of Y Lolfa’s core running costs (broadband) and staff costs.
