The ‘Ymlaen ac Arlein’ project was funded by from money raised by HealthExpect through The Health Lottery, the first grant received by Y Lolfa. It included the appointment of a part-time project worker, the purchase of three computers for public use, and the setting up of book clubs, crafts, Welsh, Lego and other activities.

The project encouraged the community’s awareness of the full range of Y Lolfa resources by encouraging library volunteers and library users to make use of the wide range of electronic resources available, including e-magazines, Ancestry family history, and academic journals. The project included a programme of social media marketing, leaflets, and taster sessions, talks and one to one sessions to reach those in the community who were not currently members.
