Summer reading Challenge is all about encouraging children to read during long summer break. We set a 6 book challenge but speak to a librarian and we can adapt it to suit your child. this year children get a fab book/pe style bag at the start of the challenge with parents issuing their child's scratch n sniff sticker rewards that go on the collector poster... other incentives like pencils, bookmarks and wristbands also available while stocks last - finish with a certificate and medal!!
As well as the Reading Agency's Libraries incentives we at GCG Library always put on a summer of events to encourage children to return to the library over the summer months. We have a huge timetable of events- all free (except Slime £2) - click on button above to book your places with Eventbrite.
It's full steam ahead for GCG Library and our Summer of Reading! We are excited to bring you the Reading Agency's "Gadgeteers" as the theme for this year's Summer Reading Challenge. Our amazing volunteers have been busy arranging a grants and we can bring you a huge selection of events which are almost all free thanks to a Summer of Fun grant from Welsh Government!
