Clubs for the Grown ups

We don't just cater for the children.  WE HAVE JUST LAUNCHED OUR VIRTUAL BOOKCLUB FOR ADULTS - NOVELS AT NIGHT - RUN USING THE BORROWBOX APP AND THROUGH FACEBOOK MESSENGER WITH MONTHLY ZOOM CHATS!  WHY DON'T YOU JOIN US?

Our Novels @ Night Virtual Bookclub has over 30 members!  We love having a "messenger chat" about our current reads, what we're thinking of the current book and look forward to chatting through ZOOM once a month during the evening.  There's no pressure or judgement we just love having chance to have a chat about our book loves (amongst other things!)

We've been joined by one of our favourite romantic comedy writers - Christie Barlow, who made our Feb meeting such an entertaining evening and we are looking forward to authors, Erin Green (12th May) Phillipa Ashley and Bella Osborne joining us in July!  If you would like to join our Messenger Group and /or the Zoom to meet the author - do get in touch!

We have weekly  & monthly clubs for adults too!  Kicking off with a weekly (Tues am ) Welsh Learners group - Caffi Cymraeg - coffee a giggle and chat with Welsh Learners - always looking for new members Welsh speaking or learning!   Also a weekly language club is Fun with French - for all abilities on Thursday evenings at 7pm!  When we can  reopen, hopefully later in 2021, we will resume our monthly Local History Group discussing all aspects of the history of our area with small exhibitions periodically, but meanwhile checkout our large Facebook Memories Group.  The Ancestry App is free to use using our Library internet and we will often run paid for courses of Family History with a local expert.   ANCESTRY CURRENTLY FREE TO ALL LIBRARY MEMBERS AT HOME - until 21st June

Creative Writing

Do you have a passion for creative writing that you want to take to the next level? A great way to grow your writing skills is to join our creative writing club, where you can share your work with others who are invested in cultivating the same craft, plus we just have a lot of fun! Once a month - when safe to do so!

Family Activities

We have many sessions during the school holidays - Halloween, Easter, Christmas and the Summer.  These events are aimed at children and families and have proved to be very popular - see our events page.  Past highlights are trips to local Theatre, Pontadawe Art Centre, including  a craft workshop from Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Family Wreath Making Sessions and Floral arrangements and our Summer Fun day.
